Royal Wedding Opinions: What Did You Think of the Ceremony?

Heavenly Father,
we ask your blessing
upon his Royal Highness, Prince William and Catherine
as they pledge their love for each other in marriage.
May your love unite them through their lives.
Grant them the strength to serve you, our country and the Commonwealth
with integrity and faithfulness.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen

It was beautiful and perfect. I am so glad her dress had sleeves and she looked gorgeous . I am so happy for them . I noticed everytime prince William saluted when they were in the carriage to buckingham palace that she bowed her head . I never new that .

Utterly splendid. The reading from Romans was incredibly well-chosen and powerful, and the sermon preached by Richard Chartres was perfectly pitched. It was a marvellous opportunity for Christ to be broadcast into millions of homes worldwide.

I was impressed by how thoroughly Christian the understanding of marriage expressed in the wedding service was, especially with respect to indissolubility. If only the lex credendi of the CofE matched the lex orandi.

I liked what I saw...

I thought it was beautiful in its simple elegance, richness of meaning and warmth. The sermon and reading were lessons much needed in this age. I loved that they included the ordinary people they knew. It was exactly what Princess Diana would have hoped for. May God bless them all.

These comments are a tonic after some of the sour opinions expressed on Fr Ray Blake's blog and elsewhere.

Really good! The sense of it being a marriage rather than just another 'show' was clear. The sermon was excellent.
