Schism in the Catholic Wing of the Church of England

Now, I am not an Anglican and have not been for 18 months or so but I found this video interesting and thought I would post it for discussion and to hear other's thoughts. I realise people are in different places and after all that I used to hear at the FiF meetings, I find numerous remarks difficult to comprehend. Your thoughts? Remember all things here are in charity or comments will not be published.

Priests like him would stay in the Church of England no matter what they practised or believed. Bottom line is, him and his ilk have carved out a nice life in his batchelor coterie of like minded single and happy Anglo-Catholics, inhabiting their odd AC ghetto.

Not one of them has the courage or humility to become truly Catholic despite dressing up their stance with fine platitudes of fighting on and the Bulldog spirit.

So, it sounds like he wants to 'move forward'.

Honestly, I do feel for the man - but, to an outsider, it does look like the dividing line between those who support catholic thought and worship and those who only support catholic worship is becoming clearer and more firmly set.

Good for Fr Houlding. The Church of England is indeed the Catholic Church in this land. And it's not possible to leave it-all baptised Christians in this land remain members, whatever else they do.

The most interesting comment Fr Houlding makes is when he says Bishop Broadhurst is "doing the right thing for him". I hear this so much from Anglo-Catholics - the idea that God might want some people to move and others to stay. It is a form of relativism - no objective truth, only what feels right for me at a particular moment.
