I Am Off To the States Tomorrow

Dear Friends,

Thank you for the kind words that you have sent. I am leaving early from Heathrow tomorrow to Florida for my grandmother's funeral. I would appreciate prayers for safety for myself and my family. It has been about six years since I was in the States and August is not a good time to visit Florida when you have become accustomed to the wonderful British weather! It will not be a long trip because I need to get back home to get prepared for work. Thanks for your prayers...God bless!

I then said, in a very shaky voice, Well, if it's a symbol, to hell with it. That was all the defense I was capable of but I realize now that this is all I will ever be able to say about it, outside of a story, except that it is the center of existence for me; all the rest of life is expendable."
